What is Link mode?

Hi. If you go to Tools and check Linking Tools then the Link menu appreas next to Insert. Inside the Link Menu you can choose Link Mode and it is set to Bidirectional by default. What does this mean? Thanks.

Hi @wosined, I made a search in the manual—I searched for locus—and did not find any information on the topic, it might be undocumented.

@jeroen figured out some parts of it, written up in Undocumented internal macros in TeXmacs (wiki)
I think one needs to go through the C++ code to learn more about these functions (and maybe expand on the @jeroen 's writeup.

Thanks. I did not find any mention of it in the manual either. I’ll check the code later. Maybe I find some hints in there.
