We are thrilled to announce that Mogan STEM has been officially accepted as a mentor organization for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026! This is a fantastic opportunity for new open-source contributors to get involved and work with us on advancing the future of scientific editing.

:computer: How to Apply as a Student

We are looking for motivated students to join us. To be considered for a GSoC position with Mogan STEM, you must follow these steps:

  1. Join Our Community: The first step is to join our Discord server and navigate to the dedicated GSoC channel.

  2. Connect with a Mentor: Once you’re on Discord, please directly message me, Jack Yansong Li. Let me know you’re interested in GSoC.

  3. Complete the Prerequisite Tasks: I will provide you with two small, concrete tasks related to the project you’re interested in. Successfully completing these two tasks and having the corresponding Pull Requests (PRs) merged is a mandatory requirement for us to consider your formal GSoC application. This helps us ensure all candidates have the necessary foundational skills.

:spiral_calendar: Bi-weekly Developer & User Salon

To support our community and help everyone get more familiar with Mogan STEM, we are launching a recurring online salon.

We plan to hold this online salon every two weeks to share experiences in using and developing Mogan STEM. The first session will be held on:

Thank you for sharing these details on GSoC. I tried joining the above discord channel but I am getting this (see image)

I think its because there are no channels in the server that give view access to someone with no roles. Can you please check on this ?
