Find (Scheme) command corresponding to menu item

Is there a way to find/identify which commands are run/invoked by the menu items?

I would like to change the input of a CAS (Maxima) session to “Mathematical input”. This is no problem by clicking on the menu item “Focus > Input Options > Mathematical input”.
Is there a way to enter this as a (scheme) command directly via the keyboard?

(Finding out the command corresponding to a given menu item would be helpful so I would not rely on your help each time I would like to run it via the keyboard.)

Thanks, this solution is fine for me, since I’m not afraid of searching the source.
This is actually a good way to get familiar with it and understand the program better.

Sorry for having been somewhat slow in understanding.
