Hi Everyone,
I found this page listing principal tags. I would like to add the <hrule>
tag to my document, but can’t figure out how to in the editor. I am able to open the .tm file in a plain old text editor, and manually insert the tag. Manually inserting works well enough, but is there a canonical way to do this?
Best,
Nate
Inserting <hrule> in the editor
Hi @natemcintosh, to insert the <hrule>
tag type first a backslash in the document. This causes TeXmacs to change mode (into program mode I think). Then type in the tag (= type hrule
without brackets) and activate by pressing enter. This works for all tags

@pireddag perfect! This is exactly what I needed. I knew there was some quick way to change modes like that that I was missing.
Thanks,
Nate
You are welcome. And if you want to insert a text backslash, first press backslash, then tab (in TeXmacs, tab is the standard key to cycle through symbols associated to keypresses)

You can also type - - - -
(four dashes).

This is the double soul of TeXmacs: a structured document that can be typed up using intuitive keyboard shortcuts.
