This would give LaTeX users a reason to use TeXmacs on a daily basis to improve their work with LaTeX.
TeXmacs already understands how to import and export LaTeX and so already has a lot of the code needed to create a LaTeX lint and formatting tool.
Such a tool could be run via the command line using the TeXmacs binary and the GUI would not launch.
However, I suspect that many LaTeX users would be curious enough to see what TeXmacs can really do…
