Mogan v1.2.9.7 LTS: magic paste and fedora support
hello
I wanted to use the portable version of Mogan on Windows and it didn’t work.
It may be a bug. I tried on two different computers.
Thanks again for this great software, have a nice day.
On debian, previously in v.1.9.7 I installed v1.2.9.7 LTS.
- impossible to have the main toolbar (any modification by right button in the toolbar has only a brief effect, return in the second to the display only of the mode, focus and tab toolbars)
- when I open a .tmu document I systematically also have a document no name[1] which is open (and therefore in the tab toolbar)
- I had at the beginning quite frequent crashes. Closing no name[1] implied general closing, and unexpected closings of the doc on which I was working. I thought to return quickly to v.1.9.7, but it seems to calm down …
- In a folder the icon of a .tmu document is [∅] :⋅(, previously the icon was [∮∑], nicer :⋅).
- Last detail (UTF-8?): in math mode accented letters are impossible (in v.1.9.7 this just induced an italicization of the adjacent character, as for an ’ apostrophe). Simple remedy: no accented letter or Alt+$ => é! it’s ok.
(I take this opportunity to give my opinion on a detail: I find that in math mode the red character ⫯ inserted when you force a line break, by meta+enter, a bit invasive)
Thank you very much for this software that I use daily.

I guess you are talking about a regression: right click on the toolbar and failed to toggle the visibility of the main toolbar in the context menu.
You can use the menu entry (View->Main icon bar
) to toggle the visibility of the main icon bar as a workaround.
See the bug report:
I will try contacting with the owner (student from OSPP 2024) of the related code and fixing the bug finally.
I remember you promising once long ago to add a plugin centre which may contain r plugin to create r session in mogan.
Could you make it sure to add this. Is there nobody to do it. Actually, without R session, Mogan is NOT becoming useful to R users. I may indicate here that it doesn’t work in Texmacs too.
Yes for the right click toolbar bug that I didn’t realize. Nor the creation of a no name[1] when opening a .tmu, like of a .tm
Translation of View->Main icon bar into French: Affichage->Barre d’icônes principale. Affichage seem preferable. In LibreOffice the menus are in the order : File | Edit | View(Affichage) | Insert | Format | …|. In TexMacs/Mogan : File | Edit | Insert | Focus | Format | Document | View(Vue)|… I had not gone that far
There is another strategy that is available to you, that is finding someone that knows C well enough to be able to rewrite the tm_r.c
so that it works in Windows. Then it could made made available for everyone (which is one of the strong points of free software). I looked into it some time ago but it is too complex for me (with my current programming knowledge and ability).
Maybe some person in your University
