Mouse cursor is tiny on high resolution monitor

I just fresh installed the newest version of TeXmacs (latest package 2.1.4 on Kubuntu), and I’m having issues with the mouse cursor size. My system setting is for the mouse to be 48px, but inside the TeXmacs window my cursor is very tiny (maybe 24px?), which on my monitor is hard to find/look at. (Actually, the theme of the cursor seems to change as well, maybe to Breeze Light? But that might be related to the fact that I’m using a light TeXmacs theme.)

I suspect this happens because I have a crazy high resolution monitor (3456x2160), and so in KDE settings I have to scale everything up 250%. I wonder if TeXmacs is getting the 48px setting from my OS, but maybe isn’t applying the global scale. What’s interesting is that running XCURSOR_SCALE=48; texmacs doesn’t seem to do anything.

Is this a bug? Is it an issue on TeXmacs’ end, or maybe QT? If it is a bug, is there any way to quick fix this? (e.g. changing a QT environment variable, or maybe setting the cursor size in the theme css?)

Other info that might be relevant: I have high resolution icons turned on in settings, and also my GUI scale is set to 2 (but changing these doesn’t do anything to the cursor size).

Update: The macro editor is also tiny, as if I hadn’t applied the GUI scale to it at all.

You refer to the mouse cursor or the text cursor? In the first case I think should be a QT related matter. Maybe you can check on the QT forums how to affect the mouse cursor size. To my knowedlge TeXmacs does not do anything to it.

The mouse cursor. It’s silly that I didn’t try this before, but changing my OS mouse cursor theme and changing it back seemed to fix the issue. (maybe some communication issue between KDE and QT? I’m not sure…)

The macro editor is still not scaled up correctly, though. Should I re-post this as a separate issue?
