Referencing Equations dynamically

This is probably an easy question, but I haven’t found how to reference equations. Is there an ELI5 guide for doing this?

There is some explanation in Help -> Manual -> Automatic content generation, in the section Creating labels, links and references .

Basically, you need to create a numbered equation, put a label inside and the insert a reference elsewhere. The corresponding keyboard shortcuts depend on your setup. The correct ones will automatically be shown in the help document.
