Table of contents and paragraphs

For some reason, the \paragraph environment appears in the table of contents of the General template. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Maybe use \paragraph* tag? (i.e. the unnumbered version)

That doesn’t seem to change things, the title of the paragraph still appears in the table of contents. Strange

Please see if this helps: https://lists.texmacs.org/wws/arc/texmacs-users/2021-07/msg00013.html
It might be an occasion for you to experiment a bit with TeXmacs macros.

Did you updated the document? What about if you use an unnumbered section instead?

Both unnumbered sections and paragraphs appear in the ToC, just without numbers.

You can also put the following in the preamble to remove paragraphs from the ToC:

<assign|paragraph-toc|<macro|name|>>

I have written my research paper completely using this article. see if that helps. https://typeset.io/resources/learn-latex-beginners-step-by-step-guide/

@dikshith Hi and welcome to the forum!

There is a misintepretation in your post
TeXmacs, despite its name, is not based on TeX, so an article on LaTeX cannot help, as the format of TeXmacs is completely different from the format of LaTeX.

In fact, you might find it yourself extremely interesting to try it (downloads at www.texmacs.org), documentation at http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/help/learn.en.html (including some videos).
