The Jolly Writer availability

Can anyone shed some light on the availability of The Jolly Writer? One of the threads on the mailing list suggests that the absence of a digital version is the result of a conscious decision made to promote sales of physical copies to fund development. This is perfectly fair, but there’s no way to purchase a physical copy and no indication of future availability on the book’s website. The current situation seems counterproductive in that no revenue is generated, but users (and potential users) don’t have access to what seems like a pretty important piece of documentation.

On a side note, if anyone is willing to sell a copy, please let me know.

I agree with this. I would definitely be up for purchasing a digital copy if made available.

hi @chris_b and welcome to the forum.
I think that you have a better chance of obtaining an answer to your question on the mailing list, pls. see http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/home/ml.en.html#tmusers for how to subscribe. In fact Joris van der Hoeven, @vdhoeven reads that much more often than he reads the forum, and I think he is the only one that can answer.

I agree with you that it would be helpful to have news about the book.

On https://www.scypress.com/book_order.html, it is said that

Due to reasons beyond our control, sales are suspended until
further notice. If you would like to purchase “The Jolly Writer”,
then please write to contact@scypress.com
and we will contact you as soon as sales will resume.

I guess that it is better to write an email to that address.

My guess is that the OP would like to know more about when the book could become available … and me too

The Jolly Writer is free available now. Here to download and make a donation.
