Translation by rude substitution?

I set the user interface language to Chinese. When correcting the spelling error of word “verbatim”, the candidate shows the Chinese translation of the word (in the interface; “纯文本”). Should this be considered a bug?

it may be that I did not understand your question. You write the word “verbatim” when the user interface language is in Chinese and the spell checker marks it as wrong, proposing to translate it? Is that it?

Apart this, I haven’t been able to try and reproduce the behaviour as I did not find an Ubuntu package for the Chinese dictionary for aspell.

Sorry I didn’t make myself clear.

  1. I type “verbatim” wrong (e.g. varbatim)
  2. Use the spell checker
  3. The spell checker proposes several candidates, one of them being “纯文本” while I expect it to be “verbatim”

Ok, I see. I think I know where the bug comes from: the program considers the candidates to be part of the interface. I tried it for Italian and the behaviour is the same (with the Italian translation). I think it would be good to file a bug report in Savannah, at https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=texmacs

Do you want to do that or would you prefer that I do it?
