Hello everyone!
My name is Utkal Singh, and I’m a developer from India
with a background in C++ and Python. I came across Mogan
STEM while going through the GSoC 2026 organizations list,
and honestly, the idea of making academic writing feel as
natural as breathing really stuck with me.
I spent today getting familiar with the project:
- Forked the repo and cloned it locally
- Set up the upstream remote correctly
- Started building with xmake on Windows
- Went through the codebase, OSPP proposals, and even
found the .claude/agents folder — really interesting
to see how the team works!
I’ve read through the GSoC 2026 project ideas and I’m
excited to contribute. A couple of questions for the mentors:
- Which of the two project ideas would you recommend
for someone just getting started with the codebase? - Is there a good first issue you’d suggest to help
me get comfortable with the code?
Happy to be here and looking forward to learning from
this community!
