I often lose my typed work after an accidental mistake and end up saving over the correct file. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find any historical version to revert back to the right content. Is there a way to track or recover previous versions?

As far as I know your only option is to put your document under version control; the version control system (e.g. SVN) can be partially controlled via TeXmacs itself (I looked at it quickly maybe a few years ago and I do not know how well it works). Sorry that it is not simpler
